Roads around a six-storey former leather factory gutted by fire in Walsall remain closed off, police say.

The fire broke out at the old Boak building on Station Street on Monday night and much of the surrounding area was closed off on Tuesday.

West Midlands Police said there would be no access to Bridgeman Street, Station Street and Queen Street throughout the morning.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious.

More than 80 firefighters were called to the fire at the Grade II-listed building

It was put out in the early hours of Tuesday after the roof had collapsed.

Long Street was reopened on Tuesday night after being closed between Bridgeman Street and Brook Street.

Access to Walsall railway station also remains restricted.
