Police make arrests after following tracks in the snow

Paw prints left in the snow led to police to arrest two men suspected of metal thefts in the West Midlands.

Police were called after a Coseley resident spotted two men and a dog running from his house. His gas meter and pipe work had been taken.

Police followed foot and paw prints for more than a mile before arresting two men at another house.

Officers in Dudley also made an arrest after following footprints from the scene of some car damage.

Police were called to Bilston Street, Dudley at 23:10 GMT on Thursday after a report of bricks being thrown at passing cars.

A taxi had its windows smashed and a small number of other cars were hit. The taxi driver was unhurt.

West Midlands Police said officers followed "fresh tracks" in the snow and arrested a 17-year-old boy on suspicion of causing criminal damage.
