West Bromwich death: Man accused of Jasbir Singh Bains' murder

A 43-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a man whose body was found in a West Midlands park lake.

The body of Jasbir Singh Bains, 41, of West Bromwich, was discovered at Dartmouth Park in the town on the morning of 28 November.

A post-mortem examination confirmed his throat had been cut.

Jagdev Rai, of Salisbury Road, West Bromwich, appeared before magistrates in Sandwell and remains in custody.

Mr Rai, who is also charged with three counts of fraud, is due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Wednesday.
