Baby badly hurt as car hits pushchair in Great Barr

A baby has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a car hit a pushchair in Birmingham.

Part of A34 Walsall Road in Great Barr has been closed following the crash, which happened between the Scott Arms pub and the former Clifton Cinema at about 16:45 BST.

When ambulance crews arrived they found an off-duty nurse providing first aid.

The baby was taken to Birmingham Children's Hospital with a serious head injury.

Police have urged anyone who saw the crash to contact them.
