Tyseley alley shots: Man charged over firearms and drugs offences

A 34-year-old man has been charged after a shooting incident in Tyseley, Birmingham, police have said.

West Midlands Police said a 21-year-old man escaped uninjured after he was shot at twice in an alleyway off Ninfield Gardens on 13 August.

Nathaniel Clarke, from Warwick Road, Acocks Green, has been changed with unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of drugs.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Birmingham Crown Court in November.

Det Ch Insp Simon Wallis said: "Thankfully the young man concerned in the incident was not injured.

Police said after a search of the area, and at a nearby property, a quantity of both Class A and Class B drugs were recovered, together with a loaded handgun and bullets.

"The recovery of a firearm and bullets remains a significant event and our investigation into the incident will extend to working with National Ballistics Service experts around the background of that weapon," Mr Wallis said.
