12 December 2013 Last updated at 16:11 GMT

Security Minister James Brokenshire MP has visited a West Midlands mosque as part of efforts to tackle extremism and hate-crime.

The visit to the Hazrat Sultan Bahu Jamiah Islamiyah Mosque in Sparkbrook, Birmingham, follows the summer murder of a Muslim pensioner in the city and bomb attacks on mosques in Walsall, Tipton and Wolverhampton.

The MP met with police, faith leaders and city councillors to discuss what needs to be done.

Peter Wilson reports.
