A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a shotgun attack outside a West Midlands pub.

A masked man opened fire in the car park of the Kingfisher, on Rover Drive, Castle Bromwich, on Friday evening.

Police said a 39-year-old man - who has since been discharged from hospital - suffered a shotgun wound to one arm.

A 42-year-old man from Smiths Wood, Solihull, was arrested shortly afterwards and was later released on police bail until March.

West Midlands Police said it believed the attack was "targeted".

Det Ch Insp Matt Markham added: "It's understood the offender, who was carrying a bag or rucksack, ran off on foot down a nearby alleyway."
