Ambulance arson charge for Birmingham teenager

A teenage girl has been charged with setting an ambulance on fire while paramedics treated a patient.

The medics had been called to Broad Road, Acocks Green, when they returned to find a fire had been started in the passenger seat, police said.

West Midlands Police said "significant damage" - estimated at £2000 - had been caused to the ambulance on Sunday.

A 16-year-old girl has been charged with arson and bailed to appear before Birmingham Youth Court on 23 June.

Another 17-year-old girl, who was also arrested nearby, was released on police bail.
