Third man charged with murder following Sparkbrook violence

A third man has been charged with murder after a stabbing during disorder in the Sparkbrook area of Birmingham.

West Midlands Police said Umar Zazai, 25, from Birmingham, was remanded in custody by magistrates to appear before the city's Crown Court on Tuesday.

Ikram Ullah Khan, 28, known locally as Ikram Elahi, was stabbed in the neck in the Stratford Road area on 2 July.

Two other men, also from Birmingham, have already appeared in court charged with his murder.

Khalid Jan, 23, from Sparkbrook, and Naweed Bashardost, 22, from Alum Rock, were remanded in custody.

A total of 11 people have been arrested in connection with the disorder the broke out on the night of the stabbing.
