The second of two men who died after being found injured on railway tracks at Birmingham New Street station has been named.

Hitesh Dhirajlal, 31, from West Bromwich, was found next to Jeevan Singh Dhanda, 18, on 7 August.

An inquest into Mr Dhirajlal's death was opened and adjourned at Birmingham Coroner's Court on Friday.

British Transport Police said both men's injuries suggested they had fallen from a height.

It said it was still investigating whether the men knew each other and how they came to be on the tracks at around 06:00 BST.

Mr Dhirajlal died on 18 August, four days after he was discharged from Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham, police said.

British Transport Police said the deaths were being treated as unexplained and appealed for information from the public.
