A suspected murder victim whose body was found on a Smethwick street has been named by police.

Glynis Bensley, 48, who lived locally, was found dead in Cheshire Street just before 23:50 BST on 3 September.

A post-mortem examination confirmed she died from a head injury, West Midlands Police said.

A 14-year-old boy, arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday, has been released on conditional bail as inquiries continue.

Det Ch Insp Sam Ridding said: "We are still piecing together all of the information we have gathered to determine Glynis' last movements and what led to her tragic death.

"Our thoughts remain with Glynis' family and friends who are devastated by what has happened and specially-trained officers are working with them at this time."

Officers urged anyone who was in the Cheshire Road area on the evening of 3 September to contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers.
