Smethwick murder: Boy aged 13 held over Glynis Bensley death

A 13-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of murdering a woman found dead in a West Midlands street.

Glynis Bensley, 47, was found dead in Cheshire Street, Smethwick just before 23:50 BST on 3 September. A post mortem found she died of a head injury.

The teenage suspect was arrested after he visited a police station on Tuesday.

A second teenager, a 14-year-old boy, has been released on bail having been arrested on suspicion of murder on Thursday.

Det Ch Insp Sam Ridding from West Midlands Police said: "Our thoughts remain with Glynis' family and friends who are obviously devastated by what has happened."
