Wolverhampton murder victim was stabbed in the chest

A man found in a Wolverhampton street who is the centre of a murder investigation died from a stab wound to the chest, police said.

A member of the public alerted officers to the body in Treynham Close in the Stowlawn area of the city at about 21:30 BST on Saturday.

A post-mortem was carried out on Sunday on the 21-year-old man, who has not been named.

West Midlands Police said they remain "open minded" about a likely motive.

Police said they are officers were carrying out "an extensive trawl" of local CCTV cameras and are making enquiries with nearby residents.
