A man found stabbed to death in a Wolverhampton street has been named by police.

The body of 21-year-old Joshua Price, from Stowlawn, was discovered by a member of the public in Treynham Close on Saturday evening.

A post mortem examination revealed the father-of-one died from a stab wound to the chest.

West Midlands Police are treating the death as murder, but said they were "open minded" about the motive.

Mr Price's girlfriend Megan Campbell, said: "I loved Josh loads. We have been together for four years. He was a great father and partner and will be deeply missed."

Police said officers were carrying out "an extensive trawl" of local CCTV cameras and talking to nearby residents.

Extra officers are patrolling the Stowlawn area as a precaution, according to the force, which has appealed for anyone with information about the killing to contact them.
