Several major roads in the West Midlands have been badly flooded as heavy rain swept across the region.

Bromford Road in Oldbury, Hagley Road in Bearwood and Kings Road in Kingstanding were all affected by flash floods on Friday afternoon.

Travel site Inrix said few of the roads had closed, but many rush hour commuters faced delays.

A lane on the M5 entry slip road at J3, Halesowen was closed, while a number of A roads were also affected.

Birmingham City Council advised drivers to leave extra room for braking and to slow down.

Dave Throup, from the Environment Agency said a narrow band of the West Midlands, including Birmingham, had seen 10-20mm of rain in just a couple of hours.
