Pedestrian struck by van in Wolverhampton killed

A pedestrian died when he was hit by a van in the West Midlands.

The man was struck on the junction of Myatt Avenue and Parkfield Road in Ettingshall, Wolverhampton, shortly before 19:00 GMT on Tuesday.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the pedestrian went into cardiac arrest and, despite medics' best efforts, it quickly became apparent nothing could be done to save him.

The van driver was checked over but had not suffered any injuries.
