Man jailed after woman stabbed in Birmingham car park

A man who stabbed a pregnant woman in a car park in Birmingham has been jailed for life.

The 31-year-old woman was attacked near Fitness First, Stirchley, on Pershore Road in Birmingham on 1 July 2013.

In September, Leon Harrison, 32, from Swinford Road, Selly Oak, admitted charges of attempted murder and possessing an offensive weapon.

He has been sentenced to a minimum of 16 years in prison at Birmingham Crown Court.

West Midlands Police said the woman survived and later gave birth.
