Birmingham man arrested for stun gun attack
A suspected thief been arrested after allegedly shocking a man with a stun gun disguised as a torch in Birmingham.
The victim told officers he had been attacked after confronting a man tampering with his car on Bromford Road at about 22:30 GMT on Tuesday, police said.
He was left with minor burn-like injuries to his arm.
The suspect was Tasered by officers and was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm and attempted theft.
West Midlands Police said the 38-year-old, from Hodge Hill, had pointed the suspected weapon at officers on Cole Hall Lane.
"The man who flagged down one of our police response cars told how the electrical current sent a tingling pain shooting down his arm," Det Insp Nick Dale said.
"Thankfully, he wasn't badly hurt but they have the potential to spark serious injury."
