Ambulance answering 999 call in collision in Balsall Health

A woman was taken to hospital after the car she was driving collided with an ambulance responding to a 999 call.

The collision happened at the junction of Lincoln Street and Edward Road, Balsall Heath, Birmingham at 07:40 GMT, the ambulance service said.

West Midlands Ambulance Service said the woman was fully immobilised at the scene as a precaution and taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

She has since been discharged, a spokeswoman added.

Two ambulance staff were "shaken but uninjured" in the collision, the service said.
