Aston Expressway '100mph drink-driver' charged by police
A motorist has been charged with drink-driving after his car was seen travelling at about 100mph through a stretch of motorway roadworks.
He was stopped after the vehicle was spotted in a temporary 30mph stretch of the Aston Expressway in Birmingham.
Police said the driver gave roadside and custody breath tests and recorded 74mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath - more than twice the legal limit.
The man, who is yet to be named, will appear in court on February 10.
