Ambulance patient dies after crash on M5 near Worcester

An 85-year-old man who was travelling in an ambulance service minibus which crashed on the M5 has died.

The crash, involving two other cars, happened between junctions 6 at Worcester and 5 at Droitwich Spa, at about 17:00 GMT on Tuesday.

A West Mercia Police spokeswoman said the man died overnight between Wednesday and Thursday.

She said a 90-year-old woman, who was also travelling in the vehicle, remained in a "critical condition".
