Birmingham in 80,000 new homes target

Birmingham needs 80,000 new homes over the next 16 years to meet an increase in population.

The council said the city's population would rise by 150,000 by 2031.

It said it was targeting £9bn of investment from property developers to meet the target of new homes "having identified 40 major brownfield sites".

All housing development areas have been listed in one document known as the Birmingham Housing Prospectus.
