Police appeal for hit-and-run driver following death of Adam Jones
Police are appealing for information following the death of a West Midlands teenager in a hit-and-run crash.
Adam Jones, 15, from Wednesbury, died when he was hit by a car while crossing a road in West Bromwich at about 19:30 BST on 26 March.
He was flung into the windscreen and pronounced dead shortly afterwards. The driver ran from the scene, police said.
Pictures of the car, a blue Volkswagen Bora, was at West Bromwich Albion's fixture against QPR.
Adam's family have also issued a social media appeal about the crash, which took place at the junction of Beacon View Road and Walsall Road.
Insp Paul Bennett, from West Midlands Police, said: "We have been overwhelmed with the response to our appeal.
"West Bromwich Albion FC have pledged their support for the family, who are all keen Baggies fans, and pictures of the car were flashed on screens at the ground at half time.
"Our thoughts remain with Adam's family and we are determined to find the person responsible for his death to help them come to terms with their loss.
"I would appeal to the driver of the car directly to contact us."
