A man is in hospital with serious stab wounds and another two suffered minor injuries following a "road rage" incident in Birmingham.

Police were called to a fight in Balsall Heath between five men travelling in two cars.

Detectives said they believed the three injured men were in a Volvo Estate that pulled out in front of a Ford Fiesta hatchback.

Two men who were in the Fiesta have been arrested on suspicion of wounding.

It happened at the junction of Moseley Road and Highgate Road just before 17.15 BST on Friday.

Det Con Elaine Dodd, from West Midlands Police, said: "This happened in broad daylight and at a busy time of day in Balsall Heath.

"We know a number of people tried to stop the fighting and keep the peace and we would ask anyone who has not yet spoken to us to get in touch."
