A wall has collapsed on to a 2,000 litre gas tank in Smethwick, prompting nearby premises to be evacuated.

Fire crews arrived at Steel & Alloy Processing Ltd on the Bridge Trading Estate shortly after 09:15 BST to find a 14 ft high (4.3m) brick wall fallen on top of a propane tank.

A gas leak was isolated along with electricity supplies.

A structural engineer helped make the area safe, while crews sprayed the tank with water as a precaution.

People were allowed back into nearby premises within three hours.
