Blood pressure trial for Birmingham patients

Four patients in Birmingham with high blood pressure have become the first in the country to try a new ultrasound treatment.
The Wave 4 trial hopes to prove that a simple one-hour treatment can reduce blood pressure and stop people dying from heart attacks or suffering strokes.
The treatment at Heartlands Hospital targets the nerves that send out signals to produce adrenalin - a common occurrence in people with high blood pressure.
Patients reported no pain and problems after the trial, clinicians said.
