Dog found with hook in neck in Birmingham needs new home
A dog found tethered with a hook through its neck is looking for a new home.
Rex, a one year old Presa Canario, was found tied up in a Birmingham garden in October.
A karabiner, a large hook with a spring-loaded clasp, had gone through the skin of the animal's neck and it is thought it had been tied up for at least three days.
His previous owner has since been banned from keeping pets for 10 years.
Kelly Legg, kennel supervisor at the RSPCA's Newbrook Animal Centre in Frankley Green, said Rex had suffered the most "horrific injury" but had been brave and made a good recovery.
"Rex has suffered at the hands of people, but he has shown that he has such a huge heart and wants to be friends with everyone," she said.
