More arrests over Wolverhampton stabbing death

Two more men have been arrested on suspicion of murdering a man stabbed to death in what police think was a targeted attack.

Mircea Gheorghe Cozmiuc, 23, known as Gheorghe, was found in Carter Road, Wolverhampton, on Saturday morning and pronounced dead in hospital.

Two men, aged 34 and 36, were arrested on Monday evening in Pennfields in connection with the killing.

A 33-year-old man arrested on Saturday remains in police custody.

A fourth man, also arrested on Saturday, has been released on bail.

Police would like to hear from anyone who saw a grey Audi A3 speeding away from the scene in the moments after the attack and also anyone who saw anything out of the ordinary in Carter Road on Friday night or Saturday morning.

Det Insp Jim Munro said: "We believe this assault was targeted and I would like to reassure the community that there is no risk to the wider public."
