Man in court after Spread Eagle pub stabbing

A 22-year-old man has appeared in court charged with of the murder of a wedding guest during a brawl outside a Black Country pub.

Ricky Shaw, of Bilston, is accused of murdering father-of-two Thomas Berry, 34, on 10 July. Mr Berry died after being stabbed in the chest.

Mr Shaw is also charged with attempted murder, wounding and possession of an offensive weapon.

He is due to appear at Wolverhampton Crown Court on 21 July.

A disturbance started outside the Spread Eagle pub in Bilston where it later escalated, police have said.
