A man has been charged following a crash that killed a baby boy and left three others seriously injured.

Two-month-old Mohammed Isa was taken to hospital following Saturday evening's crash in Smethwick, West Midlands.

Three more people, two men and a woman, remain in serious conditions in hospital.

A 31-year-old Smethwick man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving, as well as several other driving offences.

He is accused of failing to stop and report a collision, driving other than in accordance with a licence and driving without insurance.

He is due to appear before magistrates in Warley on Wednesday.

Mohammed and the injured people were all in the same car, a Toyota Corolla.

Police are still appealing for anyone who saw a silver Mitsubishi travelling along Grove Lane before the collision to contact them.
