Woman walking dog in sex attack in Halifax

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious sexual assault on a woman walking her dog in Halifax.

A 34-year-old woman was walking her Rottweiler dog in Hanson Lane, Pellon in the early hours of Tuesday.

West Yorkshire Police said a man approached her who appeared to be under the influence of drink and drugs.

She offered him assistance before he physically assaulted her and then subjected her to a serious sexual assault in St Augustine's Park.

The woman received minor injuries but was badly traumatised by the incident.

The man is described as being Asian, 25 to 28 years of age and about 5ft 10ins tall.

He was of slim build, with short, black hair. He may have been wearing earrings and was wearing dark clothing and trainers.
