Two people whose bodies were found at a house in Bradford have been identified by detectives as a Polish couple.

Bartlomiej Bozek, 33, and his partner Karolina Wasilewski, 28, were found at a house in Hallfield Road on Monday.

Post mortem tests showed that Mr Bozek died as a result of hanging, but the cause of Ms Wasilewski's death is still being investigated.

Mr Bocek was last seen alive on 6 January and Ms Wasilewski is thought to have last been seen on 1 January.

He is known to have lived in the Tarnow area of southern Poland, near to Krakow, and she is originally from the Belchatow area.

'Vital information'

Officers are not seeking anyone else in connection with the couple's deaths, but want to trace anyone who may have seen either of them in the days leading up to the discovery of their bodies.

Det Supt Sukhbir Singh, of West Yorkshire Police's homicide and major inquiry team, said: "We are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen either Karolina or Bartlomiej since the Christmas and New Year period... because they may have vital information which can assist us.

Officers are particularly keen to speak to members of Bradford's Polish community.

Mr Singh said: "We know that both Bartlomiej and Karolina had links with the Polish community in Bradford so it's very likely that the information they have could be particularly useful to our inquiries."

A Polish translator is available to help if necessary, police added.
