Man Tasered over Batley pensioner knife threat claim

A man was subdued with a police Taser after a pensioner was allegedly threatened with a knife on a street in West Yorkshire.

Police received a call claiming an 80-year-old man was threatened as he crossed a road outside the Babes in the Wood pub at Soothill in Batley.

Officers were sent to the scene and a man who police said refused to comply was shot with a Taser.

West Yorkshire Police said a 59-year-old man was arrested at the scene.
