Two more arrests over Wakefield arson attack in 2008

Police have made two more arrests over an arson attack in 2008 after an appeal on the BBC's Crimewatch programme.

The arrests follow the February appeal over a house fire in Milnthorpe Green, Sandal in August 2008.

The appeal was prompted by an anonymous call made after an earlier Crimewatch piece about a separate nearby arson attack that killed a woman.

Two Wakefield men, aged 22 and 34, have been arrested and released on bail. A 29-year-old man is already on bail.

Lea Brooke, 81, died at her home in Wakefield in November 2008.

White spirit was poured through the letterbox of her house in Walton Lane, and ignited.

Police said all three men arrested over the Milnthorpe Green house arson had been bailed pending further enquiries.
