Driver charged over Huddersfield pedestrian death

A man has been charged with causing the death of a 24-year-old pedestrian who was hit by a car while crossing a road in West Yorkshire.

Kayleigh Sylvester was struck by a Ford Mondeo on the A62 Leeds Road in Huddersfield in March.

Miss Sylvester, of Town Crescent, Huddersfield, died later in hospital.

A 38-year-old Glasgow man has been charged with causing death by driving without due care and attention and failing to stop.

He is due to appear at Huddersfield Magistrates' Court on 30 September.
