Former HQ of Bristol-based Somerfield on the market

The former headquarters of the Bristol-based supermarket chain Somerfield has been put on the market.

The move follows the take over of the company by the Co-Operative Group (Co-op) last year and the movement of staff to Manchester.

The decision to lease out the offices marks the end of Bristol's link with the chain which began as a family grocery store more than 130 years ago.

About 900 staff used to be based at the offices in Whitchurch.
