Two more arrested over Bristol teenager's murder

Two more people have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Bristol teenager.

Abdirisak Mohamoud, from Fishponds, was stabbed in Stapleton Road, Easton, on 8 July. He died at the Bristol Royal Infirmary.

A man, 23, and a woman, 18, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender on Wednesday. They have been released on police bail.

Mr Mohamoud would have been celebrating his 19th birthday.

The incident happened at the junction with Villiers Road at about 2300 BST.

A police spokesman said a man who was arrested on suspicion of murder in the initial stages of the investigation, and a woman arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, remained on police bail.

He said no further action was taken against other people who were arrested earlier in the investigation.

Det Ch Insp Phil Jones again appealed for information, no matter how small.

He said: "The family of Abdirisak are extremely upset and are still trying to come to terms with their loss. Today is especially difficult for them as they should be celebrating Abdi's 19th birthday."

Mr Mohamoud's mother Zahra Ahmed added: "I would really appreciate and encourage people to come forward and speak to the police."
