Lifeboat rescues worker who fell in sea off Weston pier

A worker on the pier at Weston-super-Mare has been rescued by lifeboat after he fell into the sea.

Coastguards were called at about 1115 BST on Tuesday after reports that a man had fallen into the water at the end of the Grand Pier.

Lifeboat crews from the town pulled the 32-year-old man from the sea and he was taken to Weston General Hospital.

He was treated for hypothermia and remains in hospital. His current condition is not known.
