Roadworks to combat flooding on Bath commuter route

Motorists using one of Bath's busiest commuter routes face five weeks of delays because of roadworks.

The works on Connection Road and Lower Bristol Road, costing almost £250,000, are aimed at protecting the city from flooding.

The junction of the two roads has flooded on a number of occasions because of heavy rainfall and Wessex Water hopes a new sewer will help.

Connection Road will be completely closed on Monday when works begin.

There will be two-way traffic lights on Lower Bristol Road throughout the period.
