New chief executive appointed at Bristol Music Trust
A trust which was set up to manage the Colston Hall in Bristol has appointed its first chief executive.
Louise Mitchell will lead the venue as it transfers from being council-run to being operated by a trust.
Ms Mitchell has held the position of assistant director of the Edinburgh Festival and concert director of the London Philharmonic Orchestra.
She recently led Glasgow Concert Hall through a similar change when it was transferred to a trust.
She said she was looking forward to working in a vibrant city.
"There is a huge richness of musical talent in the city and I am very much looking forward to the task ahead."
Henry Kenyon, the chair of the Bristol Music Trust, said he was pleased with the appointment.
"Louise is a respected and inspirational arts leader who has a proven track record of running a forward-thinking music trust and concert hall in Glasgow."
Ms Mitchell will start her new role in May.
