Delays warning as bridge over A4174 at Filton removed
Motorists in part of Bristol are being warned of traffic delays as a pedestrian bridge is demolished.
The 1970s concrete structure over the A4174 ring road near the Filton roundabout is being removed as it is no longer required.
"The bridge is nearing the end of its life and most people choose to cross at the traffic lights," a South Gloucestershire Council spokesman said.
The A4174 Filton link road is due to reopen at 0800 BST on Monday.
"The bridge will be crushed up in situ using four or five 20 tonne excavators and the concrete retrieved will be taken away for recycling so that it can be used for future construction projects," the council spokesman added.
