Kingswood anti-drugs operation leads to seven arrests

Seven people have been arrested after an anti-drugs operation by police in Kingswood, South Gloucestershire.

Officers searched eight premises on Tuesday morning and seized a quantity of suspected heroin and cocaine and thousands of pounds in cash.

Five men and a woman are being held on suspicion of supplying controlled drugs. A sixth man was arrested on a similar charge.

Police said the series of raids was the culmination of a four-month operation.

Premises targeted included homes in Kennington Avenue, Downend Road, Clarence Road, Wychwood, Southey Court and an industrial unit in Moravian Road.

Avon and Somerset Police said officers would be patrolling the Kingswood area in the next few days to give information to the community about the operation.
