Pedestrian 'thrown through air' in A420 accident in Bristol

A pedestrian has been taken to hospital after he was struck by a car in the Old Market area of Bristol.

The victim, in his 30s, suffered serious head and foot injuries in the incident which happened just before 1300 BST on Monday.

A Great Western Ambulance Service spokesman said the man was thrown up to 40m (130ft) through the air.

Police urged anyone who witnessed the accident, which happened on the A420 Clarence Road, should contact police.
