Taxi driver held over Bristol fare row 'assault'

A taxi driver has been arrested in Bristol on suspicion of assaulting a passenger.

The man suffered serious head injuries when a dispute broke out over the fare.

Police said the incident happened at 0300 BST on the B3114 at Chew Lane, Chew Stoke, south of Bristol.

The road has been reopened after an investigation was carried out. The injured man is being treated at Frenchay Hospital near Bristol.
