Operator First increases bus services in Bristol

The number of buses going to Bristol's Cribbs Causeway is being increased by operator First.

The company is also adding a new journey on its Temple Meads route to the University of the West of England's Frenchay Campus.

An extra journey on the route between Cribbs Causeway and Rupert Street will also be added on Monday mornings.

Journeys between Cribbs Causeway and Broomhill, Stockwood, and the centre, will change from 18 September.

"When the recession first started to bite in 2009, we saw the numbers of people travelling decrease slightly," said Marc Reddy from First.

"We now sense that some of our passengers are coming back and so we are gradually adjusting our commercial network to respond to that."

Mr Reddy added that 20 new jobs have been created as a result of the changes, and eight new buses will be introduced.
