One tonne straw bale falls on man

A man in Gloucestershire has been rescued by 11 firefighters after a one-tonne straw bale fell on him.

The accident happened at around 12:00 BST in the village of Southrop, near Fairford. The 35-year-old was trapped from the waist down.

Station manager Dave Pike said the fire crews had to work closely with ambulance staff already on the scene.

Emergency services took nearly two hours to release the man who was air lifted to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.
