Man, 58, arrested following Weston-super-Mare fire

A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a man was rescued from a fire by neighbours.

Firefighters were called to the building on Ashcombe Road in Weston-super-Mare at about 12:20 BST on Sunday.

Residents left the building after the alarms went off, but realised a man was still inside. Two went back in to rescue him from his bedsit.

A 58-year-old man was arrested at the scene and remains in police custody.
