Bristol man jailed for Stokes Croft alley rape
A man has been jailed for seven years for raping a woman as she walked home from a friend's house in Bristol.
Happy Manureh, 30, was convicted of attacking the woman in the early hours of 27 February by a jury following a trial at the city's crown court.
The court heard that Manureh, from St Pauls in Bristol, approached the victim in Stokes Croft at about 04:00 GMT, pulled her into an alley and raped her.
Police said the sentence reflected the seriousness of the crime.
Speaking after sentencing, Det Con Clem Goodwin, from Avon and Somerset Police, said: "The victim has shown great courage and bravery to come forward and report this crime.
"I hope it brings her some closure knowing the man who put her through a terrible ordeal has been jailed."
