AgustaWestland's Yeovil factory wins £250m MoD contract

Helicopter maker AgustaWestland has won a £250m contract from the Ministry of Defence.

The cash will be used on Lynx Wildcat helicopters that are currently being built at the firm's factory in Yeovil, Somerset.

However, 375 redundancies that were announced in October are still expected to go ahead.

The company employs almost 3,600 people in the UK, mainly at its factory in Yeovil.

Its business headquarters are in Farnborough.
