Dog walker finds man's body on Portishead beach

A post-mortem examination is due to take place later on the body of a man found on a beach in North Somerset.

Police, ambulance crews and the Portishead Lifeboat were called to the beach near Black Nore Point in Portishead on Monday.

The discovery was made by a dog walker at about 17:20 GMT.

Avon and Somerset police said they were treating the death as unexplained and detectives have begun inquiries to establish who the person is.
